Another great episode, guys!

Thanks for the shoutout, George. On the mapping piece in Kyle’s wonderful project, I’ve been working through the problem set. As more spatial data layers come up as candidates for map display, it very quickly moves behind the simplistic (yet mostly undocumented, arghh) map display features in Node-Red.

The upside to Node-Red is that it will call external map sources and resources. Leaflet is a power language to display spatial data but it’s not a GIS itself. Live, real time updates and the like push this use case behind the Node-Red builtins. The ability to access external spatial map services such as WMS, however, do give some abilities to make this use case functional. It’s going to push the project on the RPi to a model 4 with 8 GB to handle both the Node-Red Dashboard and the WMS services provider.
